The PHI Foundation for Contemporary Art is committed to providing a space that is welcoming and accessible to all individuals. 

Please feel free to contact us if you have any comments or suggestions regarding any issues related to accessibility. We strive to make visiting the PHI Foundation as seamless as possible for all visitors, and are always learning and open to improvements.

Wheelchair Access

The PHI Foundation is partially accessible for those with reduced mobility:


The building located at 451 Saint-Jean Street is wheelchair accessible—however the sidewalk on Saint-Jean Street is quite narrow. There is an elevator that services all four floors, and an accessible bathroom in the basement.


The main entrance of the 465 Saint-Jean Street gallery has a number of stairs leading into the main hallway. There is an accessible entrance at the back of the building, located in the parking area. Please note that there is no accessible bathroom in this building.

As additional assistance may be required, please feel free to call 514 849-3742 for more information. A wheelchair is available for free, no reservation required.

Parking

The PHI Foundation does not have a parking area for visitors. However, you may find paying parking stations nearby. We also suggest you consult the map of parking lots in Old Montréal.
Fondation Accessibilite BATHROOM

Restrooms

At 451 Saint-Jean Street, our restrooms are located in the basement and 3rd floor (G0 and G3). Please note that our basement restrooms are accessible to those with reduced mobility and that we are also equipped with an infant changing station.


At 465 Saint-Jean Street, our restrooms are located on the main floor inside our gallery spaces. Please note that there is no accessible bathroom in this building.

Individuals Who are Blind or Have Low Vision

The exhibition pamphlet is available in large print and in Braille. Please inquire at the front desk and the Visitor Experience Team will be happy to share these documents with you upon request.

Fondation Accessibilité DEAF

Individuals Who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing

We are currently developing a pilot project for individuals who are Deaf or hard of hearing and the staff will be embarking on basic American Sign Language (ASL) courses, with courses in Quebec Sign Language (LSQ) to follow. Soon, we hope to be able to offer guided visits in both ASL and LSQ with either a Deaf guide or a sign language interpreter within two weeks’ notice—stay tuned for details!


Visitors who are Deaf or hard of hearing can always call us at 514 849-3742, using the free Canada VRS service to communicate with us by video using sign language.
