In Conversation with Don Hahn is hosted by Theodore Ty from Montreal's Atelier Animation and presented jointly with Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television and the Sommets du cinéma d'animation.

The conference will be followed by a screening of the documentary The Gamble House, directed by Don Hahn and presented as a Canadian premiere.

Animation producer Don Hanh not only participated in the “Disney renaissance,” he helped re-establish a genre of cinema that is loved by all. In November, the Phi Centre will pay tribute to him with an array of programming, including special screenings and a new edition of the In Conversation series. The series is presented in tandem with Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television and Sommets du cinéma d'animation.

Don Hahn is a filmmaker, author, and painter, but the cinema owes him a debt of gratitude for his work as a producer and ambassador for animated film. He has been at the helm of some of the most iconic movies of the past 20 years. Hahn shattered box office records with The Lion King, was involved in directing the remake Fantasia 2000, and produced Beauty and the Beast, the first animated movie nominated for the Oscar for best picture (1991).

This meeting-of-the-minds between two passionate animators will delight professionals and amateurs alike, and audience members will have the opportunity to ask questions.
