This conversation explores how interactive elements in performance, exhibitions and art installations can reshape a piece, reinterpret the space, and reinvent the artist-audience dynamic in radically different ways.
When art is participative—when the audience’s interpretation and movement transform the art itself—it becomes something new, wild, unpredictable, and spontaneous.
This conversation explores how interactive elements can reshape a piece, reinterpret the space, and reinvent the artist-audience dynamic in radically different ways. Last minute (2022), currently on display at the PHI Centre, is a new immersive piece by Adrien M & Claire B that plunges the audience into the artwork and provokes them to embody the experience. Bringing together speakers who are approaching this question from different angles, this panel is an opportunity to hear from artists who are pushing the boundaries and reshaping the relationship they forge with their audiences.
SPECIAL OFFER:
Ticket holders for this conversation get 20% off two general admission tickets for the Last minute exhibition at the PHI Centre.

She recently developed and hosted the Trajectories podcast for the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and she curated the Spillover Love exhibition at the Stewart Hall Art Gallery in Pointe-Claire in 2021. Marie Brassard is an author, director and actress. She builds her work on the slopes of our virtual and imagined realities, producing highly innovative pieces of great imagination and maturity that reflect her timeless sense of theatricality and her passionate interest in digital technology.
In 2001, she initiated a solo career, founding her own production company, Infrarouge, and creating her first solo piece, Jimmy. This piece was a major turning point in her artistic career, leading to critical acclaim and to continuous touring over many years.
Since then, working in close collaboration with musicians and visual artists, she has created surreal works of theatre that reveal her virtuoso acting skills and highly innovative approach to video, light and sound design. Blending voice and music, and crossing divergent levels of reality, her productions carry the audience into a world in which the lines between private and public or subject and object, become blurred – a world in which the relationship between humans and technology becomes as intimate as that between the performer and her audience.
Marie Brassard has lately become more involved with projects related to augmented and virtual reality. She also occasionally works with dance artists and sometimes acts in films.

He has created the musical score for the award-winning Nintendo Switch video game Floor Kids. He has written and illustrated the award-winning graphic novels Nufonia Must Fall and Space Cadet. He is known for his imaginative live productions such as Vinyl Vaudeville, Satellite Turntable Orchestra, and The Storyville Mosquito, each of which expresses his unique form of storytelling with music, animation, film and interactive entertainment.
