PHI Studio, a leader in immersive arts and entertainment, is seeking a Development Team Leader to orchestrate the software development of groundbreaking XR experiences. This role is crucial for our mission, requiring a leader adept in both technological prowess and superior collaboration skills. The Development Team Lead will navigate the complexities of immersive technologies, excel in fostering collaboration across internal teams and external partnerships, and establish robust processes and documentation that will enhance operational efficiency.

PHI Studio specializes in the production and development of original content, as well as the marketing and distribution of immersive experiences. It is a catalyst for innovation, bringing together artists, creators, directors and producers.

Main responsibilities

  • Lead the development of innovative XR projects from concept to delivery;

  • Oversee project management aspects such as scope, timelines, tasks and resource allocation, adapting swiftly to changes while maintaining project quality and innovation, ensuring that team members are performing the appropriate tasks to meet project requirements;

  • Mentor and guide a dynamic development team, promoting a culture of creativity and technical excellence;

  • Understand the technical specifications for each project and the tools required to complete them, and can assume the role of a developer when there is a staffing shortage;

  • Act as a liaison with development teams, 3D artists, producers, external partners, and technology team(s), ensuring a cohesive and integrated project development process;

  • Champion robust collaboration practices, ensuring seamless interactions and alignments between internal teams and external contributors;

  • Ensure that stakeholders are fully informed about the progress of each project. Communicate regularly with information, updates, and potential roadblocks;

  • Facilitate strategic planning sessions with senior management to continuously advance the studio's technological capabilities and collaboration processes;

  • Ensure team management and cohesion.

Requirements

  • Good command of Git software;
  • Software: Unity, Unreal, Node.js, Python, SQL;
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Digital Media, or a related field;
  • Minimum of 10 years previous experience as a Lead Developer or in a comparable senior development leadership role, with a proven track record in fostering team and project success through effective collaboration;
  • Extensive leadership experience in technology-driven projects, particularly in XR or related fields;
  • Strong ability to navigate and unite diverse groups, managing both in-house and external collaborations effectively;
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Visionary leadership with a deep passion for the convergence of arts and technology;
  • Outstanding collaborative skills, essential for managing complex projects that involve various stakeholders;
  • Ability to communicate complex technical details in an accessible manner to non-technical partners;
  • A strategic thinker with a focus on establishing efficient and scalable processes and documentation;
  • Inspirational leadership, focused on the development and autonomy of team members.
